Why We're Called Type One
Share
Every brand has a name. Not every name has a reason.
Type One was founded by someone living with Type 1 Diabetes, a chronic condition that doesn't take days off, doesn't respond to willpower, and doesn't care how busy you are. It's just always there.
But this brand isn't about diabetes. Not really.
It's About the Mindset
Living with a chronic illness teaches you something that's hard to learn any other way: you don't always get to choose your circumstances, but you always get to choose how you show up.
Some days are harder than others. Some days you'd rather not think about it at all, but the disease won't take the day off, so neither can you. You just do the best you can, with what you have, on that particular day.
That's the spirit behind Type One.
It stands for taking risks. Following your passion. Showing up, no matter the outcome. It's built for those who keep going, even when progress is slow, even when results don't come right away, even when it would be easier to stop.
A Name That Means Something
When searching for a name, the goal was simple: something easy to remember, and something that actually means something.
Type One ticked both boxes. It's clean, it's direct, and underneath it sits a story that's real, not a marketing angle, not a mood board concept, but lived experience turned into a brand identity.
The designs don't reference diabetes. The clothing isn't built around it. But the reason this brand exists, the reason it keeps going even when the process is slow and the results aren't immediate, that comes directly from what it means to live with Type 1.
Built for Those Who Keep Going
Whether you're managing a chronic illness, building something from scratch, or just navigating a season of life that's harder than it looks from the outside, Type One is for you.
The heavyweight cotton, the considered silhouettes, the details that only reveal themselves up close, everything about how we build our clothing reflects the same philosophy. Slow. Intentional. Built to last.
Because that's what keeping going actually looks like. Not dramatic. Not loud. Just showing up, every day, and making it a little better than yesterday.
That's Type One.
